PRECISION & ACHIEVEMENT

Values

We are keenly aware that our customers have many book manufacturers to choose from. When we ask why customers choose us, they say it’s because of how we treat them – we listen, we happily answer questions, we make suggestions and we accommodate.

Here are some ways our customer service is unlike that of other book printing companies:

Customer Service

At C-M Books many people will be involved in making your book. We will guide you through the process and our team of experts will ensure your experience is smooth. From the ordering process all the way through manufacturing and shipping, you will be taken care of by a team of experts. When a question arises we are there to help.

Small and Family Owned

Since the day we started, we’ve been family-owned, and we’ve made books in the same location on Main Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our small size and our close-knit crew (many of whom have been with the company for decades) allows us to easily communicate with each other, stay on top of projects, and maintain long, rewarding relationships with our customers.

Larger corporations often lose touch with the true meaning of teamwork, and they fail to stay in tune with customers’ needs. In fact, many book manufacturers are so large that your service person isn’t even in the same state as the press printing your book. At C-M Books, your service person can literally follow your project through our plant to make sure everything is done right.

Flexible Schedules & Attention to Detail

Need your books for a signing that’s right around the corner? One of your authors missed the journal deadline? Give us a ring. We will do our best to make up lost time so you can make your date. We’ve been known to bend over backwards to meet a tight timeline.

We’re also focused on the details. With acutely trained eyes, our crew members are always on the lookout for potential problems, so we can flag an issue early in the process before it results in a costly mistake. We check and double-check from cover to cover to ensure a perfect result.

Exceptional Quality

Book manufacturers around the world will tell you that they’re focused on “quality,” but “quality” is a very general word. “Quality” needs an adjective in front of it to truly mean something. A book can be of mediocre quality. It can be “so-so” or “just good enough.” But for our company, “somewhat decent” or “OK” are not ways we describe the books we produce. With more than 60 years in the book manufacturing business, we’ve learned a thing or two about producing an EXCEPTIONAL product. In fact, our committed employees won’t send “mediocre” books out the door. Care to see the pride we take in our work? Just ask us to send samples!

About

Cushing-Malloy, Inc. (also known as C-M Books) is one of the founding book printers in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Because our region (Washtenaw County) has been home to so many book manufacturers, Ann Arbor is often known as the “Short Run Book Capital of America.”

Since 1948, our team has produced short run books, as well as journals and catalogs for religious publishers, university presses, and independent publishers. We also offer offset, digital and eBooks, plus various sizes and finishing options to make sure your book stands out in the marketplace.

Unlike larger book manufacturers, C-M Books is a small, family-owned company. Our close-knit team knows that kind, caring customer service is hard to come by in today’s fast-paced world. When you work with us, we do everything we can to ensure our relationship with you will last for years to come.

During our decades in business, we’ve consistently heard from our customers that we are thorough, thoughtful, and meticulous. They say our level of customer service is “exceptional,” and they tell us that they appreciate how we listen and make suggestions that help them improve quality, save on costs, and shorten project timelines. Our customers especially appreciate that when they work with us, they talk with just one person from their first phone call to the final delivery of their product.
